Mgr. Monika Kistowska

Based in Poland

Specialized in physiotherapy, podiatry and natural foot function, Monika Kistowska focuses on empowering women to break free from narrow, restrictive footwear, restore natural movement patterns and build strong, functional feet.

Monika Kistowska is certified Physiotherapist (Master’s degree from the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport) and Podiatrist (Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in podiatry). She has founded MONCARE, a brand dedicated to healthy foot care, where she created specialized foot cream FOOTROPIC.

Through her skincare brand, online educational content, media presence, and expert reviews, she combines podiatric skin care with movement education. With years of experience analyzing foot mechanics she actively educates the public on social media and has appeared as a guest expert physiotherapist on major Polish national television shows, including Halo tu Polsat and Dzień Dobry TVN. She is currently finishing her upcoming educational e-book, designed to help individuals transition safely to healthy, anatomical movement. My mission is to empower women to break free from uncomfortable, narrow shoes, bridging the gap between aesthetics, podiatry and functional movement so they can walk, move and live with total confidence and zero pain.

As a physiotherapist and podiatrist, I highly recommend Be Lenka footwear because it offers a scientifically grounded, versatile approach to foot health.
Be Lenka never compromises on wide toe space.
Outdoor hiking models provide total anatomical freedom, zero drop and breathable protection on trails.
Innovative Recovery series bridges the gap between active regeneration and cushioned comfort after intense exertion.
Recovery shoes effectively protect toes from compression, support natural foot biomechanics and help people transition smoothly into a healthier, barefoot lifestyle.

Outdoor shoes

“I have tested Be Lenka outdoor shoes for recreational hiking, long walks, and outdoor use (including testing in the Tri-City Landscape Park). They feature an exceptionally wide front that allows natural toe spread and unconstrained foot biomechanics. The breathable mesh upper prevents foot overheating and sweating during intense activity, while reinforced toe and heel areas provide essential trail protection. They offer zero drop, light weight and a flexible sole with a grippy tread, making them an ideal choice for healthy, comfortable outdoor movement and easy packing for travels.”

Recovery shoes

“Another chapter are Be Lenka Recovery shoes tested for post-workout foot regeneration, long workdays standing or walking, and as a transitional shoe for those moving from conventional to barefoot footwear. Unlike classic flat barefoot shoes, they feature a cushioned sole (15 mm front / 21 mm heel) with a mild 6 mm toe elevation to absorb impacts, relieve foot load and promote active circulation after intense exertion. Crucially, they maintain a wide, anatomically shaped toe box that allows toes to move without any compression.”

Why does barefoot footwear matter?

Freedom for your feet

Modern conventional shoes often act like rigid prisons for our feet, constricting the toes, weakening intrinsic foot muscles and altering natural posture through elevated heels and toe springs. Barefoot footwear matters because it restores the foot’s natural anatomical freedom.

Better balance

From a biomechanical perspective, wide toe boxes allow proper hallux alignment and toe splay, which stabilizes the arch and improves overall body balance.

Posture from the feet up

Zero-drop, thin soles re-establish critical sensory feedback to the central nervous system, promoting functional posture from the feet up. In my practice, recommending anatomical footwear is one of the most effective non-invasive interventions.
